Printed in Italy for editions Isbn amazing collection of strips of David Rees.
"And go with the war" a satirical comic strip used by exploiting the Clip Art depicting ordinary people and average employee, plus some surprise like the robot "Voltron" composed entirely of mechanical lions, and oddly, instead of being "savaged by U.S. critics," it is the praise, according to industry insiders, clip art perfectly matches the theme of the series.
A series that actually has its strengths and nell'arguzia irony, David Rees characteristics that clearly stand out in this interview. Rees wrote this book thinking about the stupidity of war, its lack of direction and great proclamations that often accompany the death of civilization, freedom, democracy or even a single person fell for the great support Western values.
Fabio Izzo: "And go with the war" is the title of your book in Italian, I like the sound?
David Rees: Yes, I like and I must say it sounds better in Italian even though I have absolutely no idea what it means
FI: So David, welcome on board the barge Italy. Browsing on your site you can see one of your interest in Italian politics, do you know about this topic? What is your opinion on our main candidates: Berlusconi and Veltroni Voltron eh-eh (for the pun on the appearance of a character by the name of Voltron in its strips)
DR: I LOVE BERLUSCONI! What a wonderful person, a true intellectual. I love his face, his skin, his new hair, her new eyes ... I hope someday to be in America for the race for the White House! We love the businessmen here. And we respect the leaders with a strong ego. Berlusconi, Putin, Sarkozy and Bush are all made of the same mold: heroes.
FI: The first line of your series begins with a slang (in da house), your work, and the use of the language semantics are very important because the case of political satire are aware of the manipulation of language made by politicians. In your opinion. We got to the point of having engaged in a real war of language?
DR: Yes, considering that language is the weapon more important in war as well as bombs, rifles, airplanes, tanks, grenades and soldiers. I started "and go with the war" following the need to respond to the idea of \u200b\u200b"war on terror" which I think is stupid. The phrases, statements, are so vague and are used to describe our enormous duty. Everything can be justified by referring to our "great" mission ": look at Iraq, look at Russia with Chechnya or China etc ... So why play with the language formally in my strips.
FI: One of the minor characters in your series, wants to become a poet thinking to improve the world, do you think poets can somehow change the world?
DR: Hmm, I'm skeptical about it, maybe it can happen once a generation. But poets can change the perception of the world that the people and then people could change the world.
FI: What about your skepticism, always paying attention to the power of words, instead of changing, we could say that the redemption of the world can pass through a poet?
DR: Yes, perhaps the world / language can be changed, so the war described by a poet is very different from the same war described by a politician, but we never see on our televisions and poets we see a lot of idiots in the various programs
FI: Lex Luthor, Flash Gordon, Voltron, in your work, not really a comic book, we find a lot of quotations from the world of comics, you're an avid reader?
DR: When I was younger, yes, these days many do not read. Spending most of my time reading blogs, and it's a terrible addiction that I have to finish!
FI: Who has most influenced your work?
DR Kool Keith (rapper), Ludwig Wittgenstein, Richard Rorty, Wu-Tang Clan, talkingpointsmemo.com and my friends.
FI:: Not a bit off the pace of the interview 'of Q & A Time: Hillary or Obama?

FI: French fries or freedom fries?
DR: Chips of freedom (free from fat, right?)
FI Coke or Pepsi?

FI: We have to wait long to read alter your work? .
